A Jury awarded $ 1.7 million in damages to Janet Orlando, who was spanked in front of co-workers two years ago while employed at Alarm One Inc. The company argued that this was a “camaraderie building exercise” that pitted sales teams against each other. The winners threw pies at the losers, fed them baby food, made them wear diapers and spanked their bottoms. The jury ruled that Ms Orlando was subjected to sexual harassment and sexual battery, and awarded $ 1.2 million in punitive damages, in addition to $ 500,000 for economic loss, medical costs, emotional distress, pain and suffering.
