The Dolphins will likely be facing a lawsuit from Nate Sullivan, a scout who believed he was fired for violating the Americans with Disabilities Act. His attorney submitted a letter telling the team that Sullivan will start a litigation.
Sullivan had been allowed to work from his since 2004 as a result of treating his wife, Joanne, who was diagnosed with polyarteritis nodosa and cystic fibrosis.
Sullivan was given permission to work from home under three former general managers for the Dolphins. His work was further continued from ex-VP of football operations Nick Saban and Bill Parcels. If Sullivan could satisfactorily continue his work while working from home with the VPs running point, Sullivan could’ve resumed with his scouting position.
Sullivan says that Dennis Hickey, the new general manager, said that such arrangement never worked for him. The Dolphins will likely defend indicating the decision has no basis with Sullivan’s working arrangement, but instead stemming from his current job performance.
