Numerous Tylenol lawsuits claiming liver damage have been filed in a federal litigation that is presently underway in the District Eastern Pennsylvania U.S. District Court.
Based on updated counted documents, over 140 cases have been filed in the multi-district federal lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson and McNeil Consumer Healthcare, its subsidiary. The plaintiffs on the lawsuit say they’ve suffered liver damage triggered by Tylenol’s active component, acetaminophen --- a risk which these firms failed to inform in their marketing of the pain reliever.
With more lawsuits coming in the East District of Pennsylvania, the FDA consistently gave warning to the public on the liver-related side effects associated with acetaminophen use. It published a majority of its notice advising physicians to not prescribe medications consisting of over 325 mg of the ingredient.
Claimants who suffered acetaminophen-related liver damage caused by Tylenol may be eligible to seek medical bill compensation, suffering and pain, lost earnings, and others.
