States which have dared to legalize marijuana have already boasted of increased tax benefits. Colorado has already taken in about $3.5 million in related fees and taxes in just the first month of the year. Many suppose that the legal industry might be worth as much as $10 billion in just 5 years. However, the Hershey Company filed suit against a marijuana dispensary in Washington due to alleged trademark infringement. The marijuana company began marketing its products in packaging which are very similar to Reeses's Peanut Butter Cups and their Mr. Goodbar products. Even though "peanut butter cups" can seem to be rather generic, the labeling and name of the "Reefer's Peanut Butter Cup" may be too similar to the popular candy bar for Hershey's comfort. And the packaging of the "Mr. Dankbar" may appear to be very close to Mr. Goodbar's packaging. Even though there are some stark differences and they are not likely to be mistaken for one another, Hershey is suing for violation of trademark rights.
