Same Sex Marriage Future Bans Will Be Decided in Ohio

A majority of presidential elections have been made in Ohio. The same may go to gay marriage bans as well.

Justice Ginsburg said that the U.S. Supreme Court will closely monitor the 6^Th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, based in Cincinnati, as her colleagues will decide whether or not they should get into the gay marriage fight on the next term.

Ginsburg said cases that are pending before circuit that covers Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky may play a critical aspect in the high court’s timing. There may likely be some urgency if an appeals court upholds gay marriage. Such decisions would run the opposite legal trend that favor same sex marriage thereby forcing the Supreme Court to step in.

Remarks by Ginsburg, who happens to be a gay marriage supporter, will likely increase the attention on the 6^th U.S. Circuit. The 6^th Circuit is one of the many lower courts that could make a same sex marriage issue before the SC will be making its next step.
